Welcome to Explorethe.US a site still searching for meaning. It’s born from an idea that travel is great, experiences are awesome and great stories can be had by everyone.
What it’s not. While there will be regular posts, news, updates, photos and so on. This site IS NOT an influencer or blogger type site. There are spaces for those and this isn’t one of them. We like to travel and explore, but we don’t like to spend travel time prepping photo shoots and picking out matching outfits. At some point you may see a few personal pictures or stories, but they will be hidden in the margins and only there to help bring a grounded feeling to the information.
What it hopes to be. This site is born from a few ideas colliding around into a semi cohesive thought that we hope to share.
A few of those ideas:
-There are amazing opportunities for us to experience a unbelievably wide variety of landscapes and environments in the United States (Don’t get me wrong out of the country travel can be great too).
-Many of us grow up with a narrow idea of what public land is available to us. Say public land or park and Yellowstone National Park or the local city park are what jump to mind. Let’s change that. There is so much more available, you just have to know where to look.
– We’ve made some mistakes, maybe we can help you avoid repeating them. But then again, maybe not some of those are our best stories anyway.
-Traveling and roundtripping can be chaotic and feel exciting one minute and exasperating the next. Don’t give up, its worth it.
Lastly who we are. We are a family of four. Two parents who work regular jobs, (one is a safecracker, but that’s a story for another day) two kids, and a handful of animals. We love to see the country and we learn along the way. We’d like to help inspire, not with glamour shots, but with concise information in an inspirational but useful way.
